What this shows. Every addiction treatment program the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) licenses or certifies in Orange County and Los Angeles County, from the public DHCS dataset SUD Recovery Treatment Facilities. Records pulled ; DHCS last updated the layer .
A listing is not a finding of wrongdoing. These are public licensing records. Appearing on this map does not mean a program has done anything wrong, and PBPI does not identify any facility as involved in patient brokering.
Sober living homes: mapping in progress. Most sober living homes (recovery residences) are not licensed by the state, so they are not in DHCS data and no agency fully tracks them. PBPI is adding them from what each home publicly lists about itself, checked against certification lists (such as CCAPP and CARR) and marked verified only after a person confirms them.
Layers. Layer follows the primary DHCS setting: Residential treatment = RES and RES-DETOX (live-in licenses; RES-DETOX also covers detox). Outpatient = NON, NON-DETOX, and DSS. Detox = freestanding/nonresidential detox codes (DETOX, DSS-DETOX, DPH-DETOX). Each program appears in one layer; detox capability still shows in the services line.
Licensing details. Each program shows its DHCS license/certification number, whether it is licensed, certified or both, its services, bed capacity, expiration date and target population, with a link to the DHCS record and the DHCS Facility Finder. Expiration dates that have already passed are marked verify current status.
Known caveats.
- One record per license. Some operators hold several licenses at the same site, so the number of dots is not the number of buildings.
- Corrected location. Anaheim Comprehensive Treatment Center is listed by DHCS at "1420 N State Boulevard" with a map point about 20 miles east of Anaheim. PBPI corrected it to 1420 N State College Blvd (operator website, CARF listing, US Census geocoder).
- Past expiration dates. records show a license or certification expiration date that has already passed. They may have renewed since DHCS last updated its data; check the DHCS record before citing.
- Excluded records. — filed under a county code that does not match the address county, so left off this map.
- Outpatient programs have 0 beds by design. Council districts come from City of Anaheim GIS and are matched by location.
